HELLO,

SOCIAL MEDIA

HIT THE GROUND TWEETING

Social media is one of the fastest growing mediums in the world. Whatever your industry or audience, your customers and leads are on social platforms

— and you should be, too.

NOT SURE HOW TO GET STARTED?

Social media can help your business in so many ways, but let's start with the basics.

  • + Gives you a better understanding of what drives your industry or audience

  • + Builds brand awareness

  • + Establishes you as an authority in your industry

  • + Increases customer loyalty

  • + Is the key successful customer service

  • + Allows you to evaluate what your competition is doing

  • + Increases sales

  • + Helps you reach new audiences

The return on investment (ROI) on social media is undeniable. It is inexpensive, compared to more traditional advertising and marketing efforts, easy to do, and you can see results almost immediately.

READY TO MAKE THE WORLD FALL IN "LIKE" WITH YOU?

Facebook — The biggest and most powerful social network in the world with 1.55 billion+ active monthly users. Regardless of your business size, you have to be on Facebook and start interacting and engaging with your consumers.

Twitter — The ‘‘in the moment’’ platform has 255 million+ active monthly users. Twitter is a perfect online marketing tool for businesses that want to reach out to people (and are ready for a reply). The key is to be quick!

Instagram — A visual platform designed for customers to post, share, comment and engage through digital media. As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Don't forget to utilize Instagram stories as well ... share pictures and videos from the office or job sites!

LinkedIn — Regarded as the professional social networking site, LinkedIn largely focuses on B2B marketing, rather than B2C. When your employees update their work section on their personal profiles they are automatically attached to your company page which allows people to seamlessly between both. You’ll find the most business leads on this social channel.

Mortarr — Shameless plug here, but definitely worthy of falling within this lineup. Touted as the AEC's leading online inspiration and networking platform, Mortarr is the purest way to connect with the world of commercial construction and design. Use this as you would a social channel, sharing your beautiful work, networking with influencers in the industry, and gain visibility for your company's commercial products or projects by those looking for your services.

Google +, Youtube, and Pinterest are some of the other social network sites out there.  And then there’s Snapchat — the newest kid on the block.

REPEAT AFTER US, SHARING IS CARING — SHARING IS CARING.

The sky really is the limit, but here are a few post ideas to get you started.

  • + Articles, either written by your company or someone else.

  • + Videos

  • + Testimonials

  • + Job site photos

  • + Company updates, announcements, and news, such as new staff, new service announcements, won contracts, company milestones, completion of a project or job, attending a conference, event or show, sponsoring a team, event or charity, etc

  • + Any news/media coverage on your company such as interviews and mentions — like mentions on Mortarr’s social channels or features in the Forum.

  • + Any industry news or predictions such as upcoming events, legislation, trends.

  • + Random things company personnel enjoy, such as funny videos and inspirational quotes.

It can seem overwhelming at first, but the social networks detailed above are easy to adopt. Remember to start small, be consistent and have fun with it.
